Altered Set of Drawers

Hello friends & welcome to my last post of 2014.
Today it is another altered project I made for a very dear friend, I met after 15 years!
For this decoupage chest of drawers I have used my favorite Java green papers designed by Divya. You can see some other projects using these papers here & here.

The edges of the drawer unit & the MDF corner were colored with a red Giotto marker. The corner is also heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The roses are handmade (spellbinders - create a rose die).

Each drawer also has a faux knob..................the cracked glass effect is the result of clear UTEE!

Here is a side view of the box-

Double Easel Card

Hiya friends!
I am very late in posting this but better late than never!
This post is about a swap group in our city. We are a group of crafty blogger ladies who meet regularly & discuss techniques, exchange tips over a cup of coffee (and of course masala chai for Rupa!).

(L to R - Sharada, Anuja, Mary Antonia, me, Rupa, Shilpa)

I hosted the first swap which involved making a double easel card & look at the beauties each one made!

Here is a close of my card & I think I have never used so much of purple is card making earlier!

Will be back tomorrow with details of our second round of swap.

Creative Colors Challenge #1

Its time for the first challenge by Creative Colors hosted by adorable Archana. This is a new bimonthly cards only challenge & am sure you will love it. Please visit the challenge blog for details & rules. This is a color challenge & this time color palette is -

Well, pretty isn't it?

Here is my inspiration - a box card. The image is a digi by Sherri Baldy, our sponsor for this month

This is my first attempt using a digi & coloring with distress inks too (spun sugar, picked rasberry, salty ocean, black soot, vintage photo, walnut stain, mowed lawn)

The front of the card is a band held together with a velcro dot & hold a box -

This is the inside of the box. The base is a white card stock stamped & heated embossed in white & then distressed all over with spun sugar, worn lipstick & salty ocean). The colors & design co-ordinated perfectly with the pattern paper I used. The sentiment (Technique Tuesday - Incredible) too is heat embossed.

Tea light Candle Holders

Hello Friends!!
Sometime back I had ordered a few tea light candle holders from Craftslane. These were perfect diwali gifts for friends. It is also a good way to utilize small pieces of scrap pattern paper. Have used a variety of pattern papers here.
