Splashy Mix April Challenge

Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing my inspiration for the SPLASHY MIX CHALLENGES - Papercraft Challenge.
The color palette for my card is inspired by this months mood board.

Though challenging, I loved the outcome of the colors I chose.
Please visit the challenge blog here for amazing inspirations from my teamies & all the rules to play along the challenge.
For this card, I first created a background with 2 colors of distress inks - blueprint sketch & salty ocean on Neenah White card stock & added some splatters. The gold heat embossed image is from I Craft stamps, which is fussy cut.

Sharing this at the following challenges -

Stamplorations - I LOVE COFFEE

Hello Friends!
Sharing a card I made using the January sketch at Stamplorations

To make this one layer card I first masked a rectangle on the card panel & stenciled over the masked area following the layout in the sketch. I then stamped the coffee cup ( Coffee Happy Set)  & colored it with Zig Real Brush pens. The sentiment is one single stamp, so a masked a part of the sentiment & stamped as desired.

Just a Note.....with Peerless Watercolors

Hello all & a warm welcome again!
Recently I purchased a set of Peerless Watercolors & this is the first card made using these. Stamped the image from the 'Magnolias for her' set by Altenew on watercolor paper (Ranger). Cut a panel from one side & adhered a strip of coordinating foil sheet. Wanted to keep the sentiment simple to retain interest in the stamped image.

Teachers Day Cards

Good Morning!
A very happy happy teachers day to all you crafty mommies! After all we are the first teahcers to are kids :-). Thank you all for the appreciation for the teachers day cards I posted here. Well  I had saved my fav collection to share today. CAS is not my style at all & it was rather hard for me to complete all these without distress inks & blooms! Made best use of two paper stacks from DCWV - Education pack & Grade school.
So here goes -

This card is linked here -

The next two cards are almost same. Note how a slight variation in the size of the layers gives a different look. I have been wanting to use a mason jar on a card for long. The school supplies in the vellum jar are stamped & fussy cut. The scale is a washi tape. I love the bright colors & patterns in the apples here.

This one is linked to the challenges below -

In the next one the sentiment was built using a combo of different stamp sets & says it all.

Now won't every chemistry teacher love this! A while back I had seen something like this on pinterest & so wanted to use it on a card. The pattern paper is just perfect for this too!

And finally how about this to delight a geography teacher? The map, the planets...................purrrrrrrfect!!

How I wish I can go back to school either as a student to proudly had over these to my favorite teachers or as a teacher to receive these, what say? After this marathon session of CAS cards & loads of use of pattern paper I must confess that I now am a little comfortable running the scissors through my designer papers.................not to mention that I save the tiniest leftover piece!

Cards for Teachers

Good Morning!
Sharing a couple of cards I made for my daughters' teachers(in India September 5th is celebrated as Teachers Day).  You can view the cards & post it holders I made for them last year here, here & here.
Unlike the ones I made then, this time I decided to play around with some school theme pattern papers & go CAS. This is not my style & will eagerly wait for your feedback friends :-).

In all the below cards I used papers from the DCWV education stack. This is such an apt collection for teachers cards. The busy designs do all the work ;-).
Most of the sentiments are from the Teacher's Pet stamp set from Clearly Besotted.

Create Something Catchy Challenge #2

Good Morning Friends & welcome April!!
We are back with a new challenge at Create Something Catchy Challenge #2. Below is the inspiration picture for this month -

Here is my interpretation of the image -

  • To make this card I first stamped the hearts with the Kaisercraft stamp set using versamark, on white CS.
  • Heat embossed the image with super fine clear embossing powder (Ranger).
  • Used a medley of distress ink colors - picked raspberry, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn & salty ocean over the image.
  • Spritzed the inked background with a mister & then used a baby wipe to clear the colors over the image.
  • This was then glued under the negative  heart die cut in the cardstock. I have used foam glue dots to add some depth.
