Craft Your Passion#241

Hi everyone!  I'm back with my weekly DT project for Craft Your Passion.
This challenge theme is "Baby, It's Cold Outside"
For my card I have used this beautiful winter landscape digi by the sponsors "Delicious Doodles" used Faber Castell color pencils to subtly highlight the Christmas trees, the robin & the houses. The snowy scene suddenly came to life, perfect just as I wanted!!!
My card base is red over which I have overlaid vellum which had a green Christmas print. I like the red popping in the green background. Matted the digi over the same red card stock & popped it with foam tape on the vellum base. A red shimmery bow added to the festive feel!

Also added shimmer to all the trees with my favorite Wink of Stella & some distress stickles to the baubles to finish my card. The star

Altered Bottle

Hello friends & a happy November to you all!
Sharing a project I made for the Swap group in my city (Bangalore). The theme set by Sonia for this round was to alter a bottle. I had never done this earlier & was a bit hesitant! I coated the bottle (courtesy - Rupa) with gesso & left it on my table for days until 2 days before the swap!
Played around with Lindy's Sprays (Tiffany Blue, Blue Hawaiian Blue, Jack in the pulpit teal), distress paint (trnished brass), Inka gold (old gold) some die cuts & embellishments to decorate the bottle. And trust me it was so much fun................I already have several wine bottles coated with gesso! So watch out this space for some more!

Used Inka Gold for the golden hue on the embossed logo, the MDF frame & the cap.  Loved the texture!

 Some more close ups -

Let me confess it was hard to part with this for the swap!!!!

Double Pocket Card

Hello friends & thank you for visiting me again. :-)
Over the past few days I have altered a couple of items & will share these soon. I have already posted a set of drawers here.
Today I have a double pocket card. You can find the tutorial for this card on the SCORPAL blog & a similar card I made here. I love adding tags to my cards, a fun way to add messages. The pattern paper is from the Lost & Found stack (My Mind's Eye) layered over a navy blue card base. I loved the busy pattern on the paper & decided to keep the embellishments minimal...............chipboard elements & a handmade flower.

This gorgeous bloom was made using Heartfelt Creations - Striped Sun Kissed Fleur stamp & co-ordinating SB die & distress inks -

These are the four tags -

And one more glue to the inside -

I truly loved the bright yet subtle look of this card. Would love to know if you too feel the same!!!

This card is linked to the following challenges -
Avenue613 #92 (11/10)
Crafty Calendar Challenge - bingo (flowers, sentiment, blue) (31/10)

Monochromatic tag

Good Morning friends.........as promised yesterday here am with another tag. This one is almost entirely done in blue.
Let me briefly take you through the steps -
  • To begin I used TCW - birds of a feather stencil with texture paste (homemade)
to create the base layer, let it dry & then colored over with salty ocean distress paint.
  • Then stamped the script (stampaddicts - pot pourii) in archival black.  Added some crackle paint (rock candy) to the branches. A dash of brown & green highlights the branches.
  • Next to tone down the color I added a layer of watery gesso.............

Look at the awesome texture! Added a bit of shimmer to all the birds with my favorite Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.

The little black butterfly is from shrink plastic!

And the bird charm compliments the theme of the tag, don't you agree?

The cages were highlighted using vintage photo DI.

The maroon bird escaping from the cage is a rub on & I think is perfect to break the monotony of blue in the tag.
Next I splattered run down gesso randomly over the tag.

Ornate Tags

Hello lovely friends........hope you all had a great Diwali.
Sometime back I had participated is the swap organised by Swap Central India, where we were required to make three ornate tags. Sharing all these with you today.
In the first one I have created many layers using stamps, PP, diecuts..............

The second one is monochromatic & I created a pocket using vellum which holds a small bookmark......

Attempted a bit of parchment in this too.

The last one too has loads of layers & the pattern paper that you see is actually the packing of some Itsy Bitsy embellishments........

Used the CW template & texture paste for the birds

Pallavi was my partner in this swap & I hope she liked them.
