CAS(E) This Sketch

Hi everyone..............................just made it in time for submission at CAS(E) this sketch.  Jackie's sketch is so fabulous & I did not want to miss it.

Here is what I came up with -

The butterflies are stamped (Stampendous), heat embossed & fussy cut....................stamped the sentiment, added  washi tapes (I am so inspired by Yvonne's versatile use of washi tapes) & my card was ready!!!

An Altered Chocolate Box

Hello peeps!!
A second post from me today with a project for my first time entry to LESSology Challenge#24. The challenge involves creating a cover & I chose to alter this Lindt Chocolate box for this.

This is the outcome of  embellishing the lid after covering it with a polka dotted handmade paper. I loved the combination of washi tape, pearls & distressing along the edges...............................& don't miss the cute ladybird crawling on the box!!!

This is the lid & the base of the box.

ICRC 28

Hello all.
This is the card I made for ICRC28 - a card with a pun/witty sentiment using speech bubbles.
Here's my OWL saying - "You are OWL this & more".
The sentiment is computer generated & the owl is a fussy cut from PP (Papermania - Honey & Hugs) & adorned with googly eyes.

A Birthday Card

Hello peeps, how are you all doing??
It was my younger daughter's birthday yesterday & here's the card I made for her.
To begin with I had a very elaborate design in mind, but with her around all the time due to her summer break this is what I ended up making. You can find the tutorial for this card on the SCORPAL blog.
This is the card..............with pockets to hold tags.
I really loved the distressing on the embossed tags.

CAS(E) #24

Hello friends, how are you all doing??
I am thrilled to share a card I made today inspired by the sketch at CAS(E)#24 & the color inspiration from Runaway Inspired Challenge.

And here's my card -

Have used my newest stamp set (Teresa Collins - Far & Away). As you can see I have done repeated stamping of the Eiffel Tower to create the background.

Inspiration for this card is also from a pic of my dear friends Nishi & Samiran I saw on FB this morning.........they were at the Eiffel Tower yesterday!!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

DT Inspiration for Catchy Challenges

Hello friends............am back after a small break to share two cards which I made as part of the design team  I recently joined - Catchy Challenges. The theme this month is to make a CAS card using anyone of the keywords - Hot/Holidays/Hello.
This is the card using the word HOT. For this one I distressed the entire embossed paper using - barn door, spiced marmalade & mustard seed. The scalloped circle is similarly distressed. I really loved the outcome..........................................it gave me the desired effect of the blazing sun that I wanted to achieve. This was then glued onto orange card stock. The sentiment is heat embossed.

For the HELLO card I have used a butterfly stencil & distressed using - mustard seed & dusty concorde.           Used the letters for HELLO from an old magazine & glue onto a distressed (vintage photo) tag. The borders are from Pie Lane.

Please do join us at Catchy Challenges if you already haven't!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend.

Guest Designing for Homyachuk Scrap Challenge

Morning friends!!
Sharing another Guest Designer post I did this month. This one is for a Russian Challenge - Homyachuk Scrap Challenge I won for the doodled card.
The theme this month is to create a Spring Notebook incorporating the following elements - the color green, a bird/butterfly & a flower.
Here's a look at what I made - a green handmade cover layered with a parchment paper stamped, scrunched & distress with vintage ink. Spritzed the paper & while moist I rolled the edges to give it a vintage feel............I loved this, what do you think??

Here's a snapshot of the distressed (barn door) doily  & the blooms, aren't they gorgeous??

The bow at the spine with a cute little butterfly charm.

Also used some chipboard laser cuts from Itsy Bitsy as you see here. The medallion was stamped, heat embossed in white & distressed (barn door & peeled paint).

Enjoyed using so many colors, techniques & cute embellishments in this project.............hope you all like it as much as I did making it. :-).

A Rainy Day Layout

Hello peeps!!
Phew!!!! I managed to complete my entry for For The Love of Crafting Challenge#13.
Currently I live in Bangalore but my roots are in Mumbai. Among the many things I so miss about my home town are food & the rains. Yes, it definitely gets rather messy in the monsoons but I enjoyed watching the rains, through my window whether at work or at home. I also miss all the frequent visits with friends to Lonavala in the monsoon. OMG...........am getting very nostalgic, on a hot summer afternoon in Bangalore (please let the pleasant Bangalore climate make a come back!!! ).
As soon as I read the theme season stories, I knew I wanted to make a monsoon card. I have used the layout at ICR - ISC1 Challenge & the color scheme at Itsy Bitsy's Logo Color Challenge.

Here's the outcome -

A close- up of the picket fence blooming with flowers................isn't the rain all about greenery everywhere?? Don't miss the cute little dragon fly & flower buttons. For the base I used a 12x12 embossed paper & also had a punch to match the embossed swirls in the paper.

The sentiment is hand written &  added a  blue heart shaped rhinestone that I found in my stash & a wooden heart. The intent of the tear shaped bling was to depict rain drops (not sure whether I achieved the desired result though!) & used a doily to make an umbrella.

Guest Designer - ICRC27

Hello Friends!
As the title suggests I am sharing with you the cards I made for  ICRC27. I was among the top three at ICRC25 for this calendar & invited to design for the current theme - one layered card + repeated stamping. Super exited as this happens to be my first GD post!!!

In this first card the background is distressed, followed by repeated stamping.

For the second card I first stamped on the CS with Versamark Watermark Ink & then created the background with soft pastels. This gave me the colored images. The images in black were then stamped over the background.

Sharing this card at LadyBug Crafts - March Challenge.

Thank you so much for visiting & taking the time to comment on my blog. I love to hear from you & truly appreciate your feedback.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
